Take Linh Out of America, But You Can’t Take ‘murican Food Out of Linh

This title also applies to my clothing size in Asia…If you ever want to feel depressed about yourself, then go clothes shopping here. In the States, I’m considered “normal” — a healthy, American size: small to medium. However, in Asia I’m, by-golly-darn-gosh, an elephant — I tried on some pants in the night market and I literally struggled to pull it over my knees…HA

On a much lighter note, I do miss my American meals, so eff their small thighs, toothpick arms and dainty figures, I’m going to feed my body right!

Evans Burger (Map) (two locations): If you’re craving for that all-American taste, this is where you should go to get it. The setup of this place is a mixture of Johnny Rockets and Cracker Barrel. The open kitchen looks like a fast food burger joint, while the restaurant looks very western and country. Here, we ordered the Mushroom Swiss Cheese Burger and Tornado Beef Burger. Both burgers have a well-balanced beef-to-bun ratio and were both very hardy and tasty. Although, the Tornado Beef looks more interesting in the picture. I do have one critique, the patties were well-done, but then again, not sure how I’d feel eating it medium-rare here — better be safe than sorry.

KFC (Map) (Chain): Not sure if they offer breakfast in the States, but here they do and it’s delicious! I got the Fried Chicken Puff Pastry, and it’s so buttery…so flaky…so crunchy — basically a heart attack in the making to start off my morning. Also, instead of orange juice, they have soy milk to help me wash down this savory breakfast.

Domino’s Pizza (Map) (Chain): Must get that pizza fix… Plus we were lazy to walk in the heat to look for dinner. We ordered the standard Hawaiian and were feeling a little frisky so we ordered a more out-of-the-box pizza: Yakisoba Kimchi Bacon Pizza. Not sure I remembered tasting the kimchi or the bacon, but it was surprisingly very delicious. It tasted very similar to Takoyaki –the octopus tempura balls that you get from a Japanese restaurant. Also, our meal included some juicy and crispy fried chicken drums. God, can this meal get any better?!
